What happens when we stop treating excrement as waste and start treating it as a resource? This Circular Talk by Fab City Hamburg e.V. looks at one of the largest and at the same time most thoroughly ignored material flows in our society.
Manure, human waste, sewage: all of it contains nutrients, energy and raw materials that today are often simply lost. Companies and organisations are showing how value can be created from it instead: liquid fertiliser for agriculture, new materials, energy recovery, closed nutrient loops.
The panel asks what a circular future looks like, one in which even supposed waste becomes part of intelligent material loops. And how a taboo becomes a key to the sustainable city and agriculture of tomorrow.
