On April 17, we invite you to a special edition of FABRIC Nights at the Future Fashion Lab. In the spotlight is a woman who decodes the fashion world without taking herself too seriously: Hamburg-based fashion journalist Antonia Valentina Herbort.
In her reading from her book *Fashion Undressed*, Antonia debunks elitist prejudices. Who actually decides what’s “in”? Why are we Germans often so reserved when it comes to fashion? And how do you find your own authentic style in a world full of trends? Antonia takes a look behind the scenes of this dazzling industry and shows that clothes don’t just make the man—they make history—without outdated rules, but with plenty of pop culture and psychological depth.

Following the reading, we’ll delve deeper into the topic during an exciting panel discussion featuring experts from AVA Studios and Selva Huygens, represented by Natalia Golubenko.
The evening will be accompanied by DJ Martin Hufnagel and refreshing drinks—the perfect opportunity to network in the inspiring atmosphere of FABRIC.
We won’t be meeting at the Design Zentrum, but directly at Made auf Veddel’s new location in Veddel, Hamburg-Rothenburgsort.

As part of the Design Visits, we take designers to exciting locations, exhibitions, production facilities, and craft workshops in Hamburg, such as print shops, textile and fashion production facilities, carpentry shops, metalworking shops, and recycling companies, as well as trade shows and museums.
During these excursions, you’ll gain fascinating insights into the institutions, workshops, manufacturing techniques, and production processes, and you’ll have the opportunity to find inspiration for future projects and make new connections.
Past excursions have included visits to the Museum für Museum für Kunst & Gewerbe (MK&G) and Montblanc Haus.
